Windows
Most Windows computers at William Paterson University are managed with Microsoft SCCM. To ensure changes to power management are retained over time, follow the below steps.
- Click the Windows button in the lower left > Search "Software Center" (Alternatively located in All Programs > Microsoft System Center 2012 > Configuration Manager > Software Center)
- Click on the Options tab
- Expand Power Management
- Place a check mark next to "Do not apply power settings from my IT department to this computer"
Mac
To find Energy Saver preferences:
- Click the Apple logo in the upper right>Click System Preferences
- Click Energy Saver
