#Click the Windows button in the lower left > Search "Software Center" (Alternatively located in All Programs > Microsoft System Center 2012 > Configuration Manager > Software Center)

#Place a check mark next to "Do not apply power settings from my IT department to this computer"

Software Center Power Management Opt-Out

Most Windows computers at William Paterson University are managed with Microsoft SCCM. To opt out of Power Management policies, follow this procedure.

  1. Search the Start Menu for "Software Center"
  2. Click the Options tab on the left
  3. Expand Power Management
  4. Place a check mark next to "Do not apply power settings from my IT department to this computer"

Once this is done, any changes to your Power options within the Settings App will be retained.
