Map a Network Drive

While on campus using a University issued, or imaged computer, you will be automatically connected to your network drives. This article contains instructions on how to connect to a network drive on a personal computer, and from off campus.

Mac

Instructions on how to map the university Groups and User Folder shares

  1. If you are on campus, proceed to step number 3
  2. If you are off campus, visit www.wpunj.edu/webvpn to connect securely to the campus network via VPN.
  3. Click the Finder icon on your dock Finder.png
  4. Click Go on the menu bar at the top of your screen
  5. Click Connect to Server

(Alternately you can hold down the Command key and type "K".)

  1. Type smb://unv.campus.wpunj.edu/wpu-folders/ in the Server Address field and click Connect
  2. Enter your username and password
  3. A Finder window will open and you can browse the "Groups" folder for whatever group folder you have permissions to access.
  4. If you are looking for your User Folder you can browse the "User Folders" directory for your network User Folder.

PC

  1. If you are off campus, visit www.wpunj.edu/webvpn to connect securely to the campus network via VPN.
  2. Click the start button in the lower left Windows-button.JPG
  3. Click Computer
  4. Click Map Network Drive
    1. Select K: and type \\unv.campus.wpunj.edu\wpu-folders\
    2. Select U: and type \\unv.campus.wpunj.edu\wpu-folders\user folders\<USERNAME>\
