Examplify
Examplify
Examplify is a testing software that allows its users to take premade assessments, and is a derivative of its parent program, ExamSoft, which is for faculty members issuing tests. Below you can find information relevant to students using the program.
Home Use for Students
To utilize the Examplify software, it must first be downloaded onto the student’s computer (Windows or Mac.) To download the software, go to https://ei.examsoft.com/GKWeb/login/wpunj. The student will then be asked to input their student id and password before being allowed access to download the software.
Logging in to Examplify
Once the software is downloaded on the computer, the student will need to input their credentials once more to enter the program. For more information, look into the following link on the ExamSoft website: https://examsoft.force.com/etcommunity/s/article/Examplify-How-to-Log-In Usernames and passwords are managed by the Nursing Department.
Taking an Exam
Once the software has been downloaded and the student has logged in, the test should be visible at the dashboard on the left side of the program. Once the exam is opened, it will ask for a password, which will be given by the instructor at the start of the exam.
Submitting an Exam
- Open the Exam Controls option, and select to Submit Exam.
- The application will exit out of the exam view, and you will be presented with a warning that you’re closing out of the exam.
- To confirm, select the checkbox to confirm that you’re ready to upload the exam file, and then select to Upload Exam.
- If the upload was successful, you will see a green confirmation screen. Once you’ve reached this screen, your exam has finished and you will not be able to enter back into this exam.
On Campus locations Examplify has been preinstalled in the following locations on campus:
- Atrium
- Accessibility Resource Center
- University Hall (Computer lab on the third floor)
Resolving Issues
Examplify is known to have issues with some antivirus software. Before entering a test or opening the software, please make sure to disable your antivirus to prevent any complications from occurring. For more on disabling antivirus software, please look into the following: https://examsoft.force.com/emcommunity/s/article/Disabling-Anti-Virus-Software
Test Did Not Upload-Computer Offline Sometimes Examplify will intermittently end the computer’s internet connection during a test. This is a bug that ExamSoft is working on to fix. The way to solve this problem is to have the test taker log out of Examplify, and then restart the computer. At the same computer, log back in to Examplify, and upload the test once more.
Test Did Not Upload
Examplify automatically submits the answer file after an exam. However, sometimes it fails to do so, and it must be done manually. To do this, you can upload the answer file using these steps:
Windows users
- Log in to https://ei.examsoft.com/GKWeb/login/wpunj
- Select Courses or History from the ExamSoft banner at the top of the page.
- Click the Manual Exam Upload button and click Browse.
- In the file explorer window, navigate to this folder: C:\ProgramData\Examplify\STBackups
- Select the folder labeled with your Student ID followed by the name of the exam you are trying to submit answers for.
- Select the .xmsl file in this folder and click Open.
- Click the Upload button to submit the file.
If you cannot find your test answer file in that location, please look in the following directories:
- C:\ProgramData\Examplify\2174
- C:\ProgramData\Examplify\Client ID\Student ID\AnswerBundle\Exam Posting ID
- (Instead of “Client ID” and “Exam Posting ID”, there will be a set of numbers displayed that correspond to the test taken. The Client ID is generally 3-4 digits. The Exam Posting ID will be 6 digits.)

- Click the “upload” button to submit the file.
If you cannot find your test answer file in that location, please look in the following directory:
- Library\Application Support\Examplify\Client ID\Student ID\AnswerBundle\Exam Posting ID

Faculty
Logging In Professors must login to their exam by going to www.learn.examsoft.com, selecting William Paterson from the dropdown list, and logging in with their Examplify credentials. Professors have a separate login for examsoft that is provided by their department. If they forget their password, they can recover their password by following the "Forgot Password" prompt.
Monitoring Exam Progress For professors who want to monitor their exam's progress, they need to go to *Assessments*, then click the *Exam Title* (in the photo below, it's Final Exam IV) then click *Exam Taker Activity*. They will then get to the screen below. They can see the progress of students while they are taking their exam.
