About Feature Updates
Feature updates are a new component of Windows 10. In addition to monthly security updates, feature updates are released by Microsoft twice a year. This rapid release cycle means that older versions of Windows 10 become out of date and unsupported in a relatively short timeframe (See Windows Lifecycle Fact Sheet). In order to be safe and stay supported, Windows 10 versions must be upgraded in a timely manner.
User Prompt to Update or Upgrade
When an update or upgrade is deployed, users will be prompted with an option to update immediately or defer to a scheduled date/time.
