| Student Technology Consultants at William Paterson all receive mandatory training before they are allowed to work in the public access computing spaces. The training occurs the summer preceding Fall semester and covers both technology- and consulting-specific material.STCs are divided into teams for most of the sessions and learn in small, hands-on settings.Topics covered include Microsoft Office, SPSS, Digital Media, Customer Service, Blackboard, Email and much more. STC supervisors arrive a day early to participate in sessions dedicated to imbuing good management skills.

| An essential part of the STC organization is the Computer Lab Specialist team, which is responsible for keeping all of the over 20 STC labs running properly. They work year round upgrading software and hardware for students, faculty and staff to use. They are on call to be sent out to repair almost any computer issue.
