Cisco WebEx Roomkits are teleconferencing devices that connect to a standard television or monitor. The room kit contains a high resolution camera, speakers and microphone. Connected to each room kit is a Cisco Touch 10 controller which provides a user interface for operating the room kit.

IPTV is a service that [http://www.wpunj.edu/it Information Technology] adopted to distribute live broadcast television, WPU locally produced programming, and I2 learning network content. This service is available to all authorized campus network users with premium content and DVR services available to resident students. IPTV permits students, faculty, and staff to stream content over WPU wireless or wired networks to any computer or mobile device giving all greater reach and flexibility. This service offers 80 channels for resident students and local over the air broadcast channels to authorized campus network users. The legacy Cable TV service via coax cable is no longer maintained and may not be available in all residence halls. For those who want to utilize traditional TV sets you may use a Roku device by logging onto IPTV page and click on "Account Settings" and "Register Roku".

Philo Edu is the application that lets you watch live IPTV on the campus network using a wide variety of devices including your laptop, tablet, smartphone, and a traditional TV set through a Roku or Apple TV (in conjunction with a compatible [https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204289 AirPlay enabled device]).

Philo Edu is available on the campus network to all authorized users who are connected to the university network—anywhere on campus. Please note that Philo Edu is not available off campus, and will not work over a VPN connection.

To watch Philo Edu on a TV you will need a Roku or Roku TV, an Apple TV, or a laptop (with HDMI out) connected by HDMI cable to a TV.

INTRODUCTION<br />

This is a new network IP service (IPTV) that IT is adopting across campus to distribute live broadcast television, WPU locally produced programming, and I2 learning network content. This service is available to all resident students. It will allow students and faculty to receive this service over WPU wireless or wired network to any computer or mobile device giving all greater reach and flexibility. At inception it will carry 48 of the most popular channels available from the legacy Cable TV lineup. The legacy Cable TV service is still available in all residence halls for those who want to utilize traditional TV sets. The goal is to move the entire Cable TV service to the new IPTV system within 2 years.<br />

Current supported clients are:<br />

PCs with IE10, Chrome, and Firefox with (Silverlight plugin required).<br />

Macs with MacOS with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (Silverlight plugin required).<br />

iOS mobile devices such iPad or iPhone with Safari will be supported in a few days (An app will be available on the apple store later in October).<br />

Android support is in final development.<br />

Today, the WPUnjNet backbone consists of four Cisco 6500 10 Gigabit core switches and two Cisco Nexus 7000 10 Gigabit core switch strategically located across the campus optimized for performance and bandwidth. Fault-tolerance between the Gigabit switches is accomplished by using a redundant path from and to each Gigabit switch. Routing is accomplished by utilizing the same Gigabit technology capable of wire-speed routing. A total of 220 Virtual LANs (VLANs) are connected to this 10 gigabit core fabric.

Our WPUNJ wireless network consists of 652 Cisco Aironet 3500 access points strategically located across the campus controlled by a redundant Cisco Wireless Control System and Wireless Line Controller backend. Because of the robust wireless architecture, all residence halls have complete wireless coverage down to each individual room. In addition, all classrooms and faculty/staff offices have full wireless coverage.

The WPUnjNet is connected to the Internet via a dual-homed connection for redundancy. A 500Mbps Ethernet circuit provided by NJEDge.Net and a 500Mbps circuit provided by Lightpath constitute our total internet access. The total number of networked PCs, hosts and servers at the University is currently 5000 and rapidly growing. General remote access is provided via Cisco VPN AnyConnect secure access.

All nine campus dormitories (Century, Hillside , Towers, Heritage, Pioneer, White, Matelson Hall, High Mountain East and West) are joined to the University network backbone bringing the potential number of resident student nodes at the University to over 2000.

Because of the robust wireless architecture, all residence halls have complete wireless coverage down to each individual room. In addition, all classrooms and faculty/staff offices have full wireless coverage.

The WPUnjNet is connected to the Internet via a dual-homed connection for redundancy. A 500Mbps Ethernet circuit provided by NJEDge.Net and a 500Mbps circuit provided by Lightpath constitute our total internet access. The total number of networked PCs, hosts and servers at the University is currently 5000 and rapidly growing. General remote access is provided via Cisco VPN AnyConnect secure access.

All nine campus dormitories (Century, Hillside , Towers, Heritage, Pioneer, White, Matelson Hall, High Mountain East and West) are joined to the University network backbone bringing the potential number of resident student nodes at the University to over 2000.

Our WPUNJ wireless network consists of 652 Cisco Aironet 3500 access points strategically located across the campus controlled by a redundant Cisco Wireless Control System and Wireless Line Controller backend. Because of the robust wireless architecture, all residence halls have complete wireless coverage down to each individual room. In addition, all classrooms and faculty/staff offices have full wireless coverage.

The WPUnjNet is connected to the Internet via a dual-homed connection for redundancy. A 500Mbps Ethernet circuit provided by NJEDge.Net and a 500Mbps circuit provided by Lightpath constitute our total internet access. The total number of networked PCs, hosts and servers at the University is currently 5000 and rapidly growing. General remote access is provided via Cisco VPN AnyConnect secure access.

All nine campus dormitories (Century, Hillside , Towers, Heritage, Pioneer, White, Matelson Hall, High Mountain East and West) are joined to the University network backbone bringing the potential number of resident student nodes at the University to over 2000.

Our WPUNJ wireless network consists of 652 Cisco Aironet 3500 access points strategically located across the campus controlled by a redundant Cisco Wireless Control System and Wireless Line Controller backend. Because of the robust wireless architecture, all residence halls have complete wireless coverage down to each individual room. In addition, all classrooms and faculty/staff offices have full wireless coverage.

The WPUnjNet is connected to the Internet via a dual-homed connection for redundancy. A 500Mbps Ethernet circuit provided by NJEDge.Net and a 500Mbps circuit provided by Lightpath constitute our total internet access. The total number of networked PCs, hosts and servers at the University is currently 5000 and rapidly growing. General remote access is provided via Cisco VPN AnyConnect secure access.

All nine campus dormitories (Century, Hillside , Towers, Heritage, Pioneer, White, Matelson Hall, High Mountain East and West) are joined to the University network backbone bringing the potential number of resident student nodes at the University to over 2000.

Our WPUNJ wireless network consists of 652 Cisco Aironet 3500 access points strategically located across the campus controlled by a redundant Cisco Wireless Control System and Wireless Line Controller backend. Because of the robust wireless architecture, all residence halls have complete wireless coverage down to each individual room. In addition, all classrooms and faculty/staff offices have full wireless coverage.

The WPUnjNet is connected to the Internet via a dual-homed connection for redundancy. A 500Mbps Ethernet circuit provided by NJEDge.Net and a 500Mbps circuit provided by Lightpath constitute our total internet access. The total number of networked PCs, hosts and servers at the University is currently 5000 and rapidly growing. General remote access is provided via Cisco VPN AnyConnect secure access.

All nine campus dormitories (Century, Hillside , Towers, Heritage, Pioneer, White, Matelson Hall, High Mountain East and West) are joined to the University network backbone bringing the potential number of resident student nodes at the University to over 2000.
